Q
How can we do Lasik for only $699 per eye? |
Ans
The Advanced Laser Center is a locally owned company that does not have obligations to stockholders. The Advanced Laser Center does not have middle or upper management to support nor do we pay referral fees to physicians. The Advanced Laser Center owns all of its equipment and carries little debt. These are the reasons that we can we are able to pass on considerable savings to our patients. We had a choice to have huge profit margins or make Lasik affordable to everyone, especially those who could not afford it until now. |

Q
What about dry eye? |
Ans
It has been widely reported by many sources that dry eye is a complication of Lasik surgery. With that in mind, the Advanced Laser Center chose to invest in a microkeratome that decreases the risk of dry eye as it pertains to hinge creation. We use a microkeratome that creates to what referred as a nasal hinge. The difference between a nasal hinge and a superior hinge (what most microkeratomes create) is the position of the flap. Using the superior hinge, corneal nerves entering the cornea at 3 and 9 o’clock are left desensitized, making it difficult for the eye to tell the body that it is dry and needs to have tears produced. The nasal hinge leaves one of the corneal nerves totally functional allowing the eye to know if it is dry and to produce tears therefore limiting a patient’s exposure to dry eye complications. This data is collaborated by worldwide studies regarding post surgical complications. |
